fingerprint spiders preschool craft
Fingerprint spider craft for preschoolers - Fun and Easy!

This is a fun song to go along with the spider theme:
The Spider in the Web
(tune of Farmer in the Dell)

The spider in the web,
The spider in the web,
Spin, spin, oh watch it spin,
The spider in the web.

The spider gets a fly,
The spider gets a fly,
Spin, spin, oh watch it spin,
The spider gets a fly.

The spider gets a _____ (insect name)
The spider gets a ______,
Spin, spin, oh watch it spin,
The spider gets a ____.

Continue naming other insects.

Pool noodle pumpkin stamps

pool noodle pumpkin craft preschool halloween craft
Cut a pool noodle into slices and dip into orange paint and then onto paper to make pumpkins.  Add green markers for the vines and add leaf cutouts.  Complete the look with googly eyes or jack-o-lantern faces.  Fun and easy Halloween craft for toddlers and preschoolers!

Use a larger piece of paper and teach your children the 5 Little Pumpkins song:
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate.
The first one said, "oh my it's getting late."
The second one said, "there are witches in the air."
The third one said, "but we don't care!"
The fourth one said, "let's run and run and run."
The fifth one said, "I'm ready for some fun!"
OOOhh OOOhh went the wind
And out went the lights
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.

Add a section on the bottom in yellow highlighter:  Bb is for bat.  Then have your student trace over the yellow highlighter with a dark marker.  Paste to paper.

Pumpkin Weaving Craft

Picture
Easy, fun, and adorable preschool Halloween pumpkin weaving craft!

Fold a piece of orange paper in half.  Draw and cut the outline of a pumpkin.  Then cut slices into the folded edge, not cutting all the way to the edge.  Open up the paper.  Then weave pre-cut strips of black paper through the slits on the orange paper.

Complete the pumpkin with googly eyes and a jack-o-lantern nose!

Playdough pumpkin sensory station

So you know the song "Do you want to build a snowman? from Disney's Frozen?  Well, changing the lyrics to "Do you want to build a pumpkin?" is a great way to introduce this activity to your preschoolers.

Add orange playdough for the pumpkins and any other materials that you have around the classroom and invite your students to build their own pumpkins.  Add pumpkin spice to the playdough for extra sensory fun!

Oldies, but goodies! Here are lesson plans and worksheets back from September 2012 for the month of September from older versions of my curriculum. Lots of back to school, fall, and apple themed ideas!

New Curriculum Available!

INSTANT DOWNLOAD!!!

New curriculum program for the new school year!  If you have used my curriculum in the past, you will love the new program available now for the new school year!  Each lesson plan is set up in a similar manner and daily activities include:  circle time activities, gross motor activity, sensory activity, fine motor activity, math or science activity, a craft, and a printable worksheet for every school day for months 2 through 8!

What is new for this school year?
*  The alphabet is presented out of order.  Letters are presented with most common letters first and the sounds are emphasized so that the transition to early reading is easier (How to Raise an Amazing Child the Montessori Way by Tim Seldin)
*  New learning activities and game suggestions.
*  All new printable worksheets for each letter, number, color, shape, and more!
*  A few new themes:  legos, construction, sports, let's go transportation, Pinkalicious, and more!

What is the same?
*  The curriculum comes in PDF format in 2 separate files. One file contains all the lesson plans.  The other file contains all the circle time posters and printable worksheets.  You may save the files to you work and school computers and print as many times as you like.  Viewing the daily lesson plans on a tablet/laptop to reduce printing is a great option too.
*  Most lesson plans contains a: circle time activity, gross motor activity, sensory activity, fine motor activity, math or science activity, a craft, and a printable worksheet (printable worksheets every day for months 2-8).  Other suggestions for songs or snacks are provided on occasion.
*  The circle time posters are the same.  So if you laminated them last school year, you can use them again this school year.

How to buy?
If you used the curriculum program for 2013-2014, I have re-named that program Curriculum Program A.
If you want to buy the new curriculum program for 2014-15, you will want to order Curriculum Program B.
Please see my Curriculum Overview page for sample pages and my Store for ordering information.

Summer Sun Crayon Melts

So we melt old crayons into various shapes all year long in the oven, but because it has been so hot, we wanted to see if the SUN could melt our crayons. 100 degrees yesterday, and yes, the sun melted our crayons!  Great science experiment for the summer!  Tip:  set a timer for 30-60 minutes so that you can go back outside and check the progress.  Smaller pieces may melt better.

Cork stampers

Have a collection of corks sitting around?  Wrap them up in tape and make some cork stampers!  Great chunky grip for little hands.  We made flowers and mosaics, there are so many other design options to create!
